Whether you’re buying jewellery for yourself or as a gift for others you need to make sure that you are going to get the perfect size or length for that special piece of jewellery.  When it comes to measuring bracelets you need to take into consideration, Is the bracelet one that you are going to wear every day or is it for special occasions? With bracelets that are worn every day you don’t want them too loose or they will get caught on handbags, clothes etc.  With special occasion bracelets you may want more of a draped look especially if your outfit has long sleeves.

How do you get the right size bracelet?

Firstly measure your wrist, as you can see the picture measures 6.5 inches. If you were to but a bracelet with a clasp on at this size you would really struggle to do the clasp up.  I always advise that you size up by 1/2 an inch for an everyday size bracelet that will be easy to put on and will move nicely on the wrist but not come below the wrist bone the model is wearing a 7 inch bracelet in picture 2 and 3.  For that special occasion you may want the more of a draped look for this you will on average need to add 1 inch to the measurement of your wrist. This will take the bracelet over the wrist bone and onto the back of the hand.  In pictures 4 and 5 the model is wearing a 7.5 inch bracelet.

If you already have a bracelet that fits perfectly the easiest way is to measure that for the same fit.
